I’d written about the Greek and Roman gods before, so I thought while I was in Ireland I would focus on the myths of my Irish ancestors. And yet all I seem to want to write about since I got here in September is where I come from: Texas.

That’s the gist of social anxiety to me: I love talking, if you get me going I’ll never stop, but even then, there’s a part of me that’s praying you’ll forget I’m there and do all the talking for me.

Well. It’s finally happening. As of this coming Friday (August 23, 2019), I will be leaving the USA to start a master’s degree in creative writing at University College Cork in Cork, Ireland.
